VISITING LOCAL SCHOOL | Gambia

DSC_0522 DSC_0048 DSC_0545 DSC_0546 DSC_0560 DSC_0531 DSC_0583 DSC_0562

//Monday.

I think it was the most emotional day for me for example. We saw many things during that day and one part of the day was visiting the local school.
I cannot wait to show you the new vlog, it’s awesome!

Anyways. If I would have a chance, I would spend a day in local school. To see that they don’t have much, but how happy they are. How polite they were. How happy they were for a candy, I guess none of us had childhood where we rarely got a candy… that’s common over there.

It’s even crazy to think that I had this kind of chance to see the local school.

    Hi Birgit,

    Lovely pictures! I’m due to go to Gambia for the first time soon. I’m wanting to visit a local school (out of tourist areas) and have raised a bit of money in order to buy school aids etc. to donate. Where did you go? Any tips on findings a school that need the input etc would be really appreciated. Thanks, Sara

      Hi Sara,

      Oh, you will love Gambia!!
      Such an amazing idea!! Well as our guide told us, then each school welcome tourists with big heart and all of them kind of need help, which is why guides bring each tourist group to different local school. Sadly I don’t remember exactly the name of that school.. I wish to help, but we went there with our guide. If you want, you can contact our guide (who is amazing, even brought to his own home to show how they are living – such a great experience). His name is Ousman Jarra and email ousjarra55@yahoo.com. If you contact then you can even mention that you got contacts through me (estonian girl, haha) and remember that prices are always bargainable! 🙂

      Good luck and you are welcome to ask anything 🙂
      Birgit
